Olvera

All Mountain Venture’s main base is just outside the hill top village of Olvera in the province of Andalucía, southern Spain.

Olvera is a classic Andalucían village located about half an hour north of Ronda. Olvera is one of the 14 certified “Pueblos Blancos” and is also classified as an artistic and historic monument. It is crowned with a neo classical church and a Moorish castle, both visible for miles. There are a variety of bars and restaurants, a good super market as well as the local market and many other shops.

Olvera is at a cross roads between the provinces of Malaga, Cadiz and Seville set at an altitude of 643m above sea level.  Given that these areas of Spain are teeming with excellent mountain bike trails it makes an outstanding base for a mountain bike holiday.

The area around Olvera is very mountainous with reddish land giving way to brushwood, hillocks, Olive groves and rocky outcrops.  Stunning inaccessible peaks and lush valleys; thick forest woodland complete with streams, lakes and rivers. Dotted around the landscape are classic white washed villages, where all the colours and traditions of the real Spain still run strong.

The weather is temperate with marked dry summers, mean annual temperatures of 22 degrees coupled with mild winters.
