Genal Valley - Cadiz Province

The Genal valley occupies an area of approximately 30,000 hectares and lies at the north western boundary of Malaga and the southern boundary of Cádiz; Stretching from Ronda to Estepona.

In contrast to the predominantly dry and arid nature of most of Andalucia the Genal valley is a lush wooded landscape with a more tropical micro climate. The high humidity often hangs in the morning air as mist, at this time the Genal valley is more akin to central American cloud forest than southern Europe.

Ardales – Malaga Province

The park consists of a series of huge turquoise lakes set in magnificent mountain scenery. The area spans the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves the natural environments of the Guadalhorce reservoirs, the gorge of Gaitanes and El Chorro.

Unique to El Chorro are phenominal rock formations and the El Chorro gorge; 3km long, 400m deep but only ten meters wide; real Indiana Jones material.

Alcornocales - Cadiz Province

The park occupies 170,000 hectares and is the largest protected cork oak forest in Europe, and one of the largest in the world. This huge forest stretches from Tarifa at the southern most point of Europe up to the southern boundary of the Grazalema national park.

Being the most western mountains in Andalucia the climate has more of an Atlantic influence, with high humidity and an abundance of rare tropical and subtropical vegetation.
